Lamentations 2 – The Judgment of the Lord & Scientology

I can’t believe people will believe a science fiction writer rather than the Bible?  That’s crazy.

I had a friend that got caught up in the foolish belief that there was power in crystals and she believed she had come from Pleiades, but it only took her a couple years to realize she was insane and she’s on track with Jesus now.

The devil is really working over-time to destroy as many as he can.  People need to…

Lamentations 2
The Judgment of the Lord

The Lord’s anger, wrath, and destruction.

1 How hath the Lord covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his footstool in the day of his anger!

Tower of David
Tower of David is Jerusalem’s citadel, located near Jaffa gate on the western side of the old city wall. The walls and tower were repeatedly built and destroyed over the past 2,100 years, and protected the north-west corner of the “upper” city.

2 The Lord hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied: he hath thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he hath brought them down to the ground: he hath polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof.

3 He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about.

4 He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.

5 The Lord was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel; he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.

6 And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and Sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.

Zion Gate
The gate is located on the south-west side of the old city.

7 The Lord hath cast off his altar, he hath abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.

8 The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line; he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.

9 Her gates are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD.

10 The elders of the daughter of Zion sit upon the ground, and keep silence: they have cast up dust upon their heads; they have girded themselves with sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground.

11 Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.

12 They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? When they swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers’ bosom.

13 What thing shall I take to witness for thee? What thing shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? For thy breach is great like the sea: who can heal thee?

Mount Zion
Mount Zion is located on the south-west side of the old city, outside of the present walls. In Greek and Roman times this was part of the walled city, the place of the Jesus last supper and the home of the high priest high priest Caiaphas.

14 Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.

15 All that pass by clap their hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, is this the city that men call the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth?

16 All thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, we have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.

17 The LORD hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries.

18 Their heart cried unto the Lord, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give thyself no rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease.

19 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.

Western (Wailing) Wall
The holiest site for the Jewish religion and the heart of the Israeli nation. The wall was part of the great temple of Herod, over 2,000 years ago.

20 Behold, O LORD, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? Shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord?

21 The young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword; thou hast slain them in the day of thine anger; thou hast killed, and not pitied.

22 Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD’S anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.

Scientology

Scientology is a cult; it does coincide with the Bible, with God.  It has gained popularity due to some Hollywood celebrities who have embraced it.

Scientology is a body of beliefs and related practices created by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard (1911–1986), beginning in 1952 as a successor to his earlier self-help system, Dianetics.

Hubbard had said:

Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wants to make a million dollars, the best way would be to start his own religion.

And that’s what he did, he called Scientology a religion, and in 1953 incorporated the Church of Scientology in Camden, New Jersey and became a multi-millionaire and when he died in 1986 he was worth more than $200,000,000.  Today, the Church of Scientology is worth more than $1,000,000,000 and that’s just in the United States.

Scientology Beliefs

Scientology teaches that people are immortal beings who have forgotten their true nature.  Its method of spiritual rehabilitation is a type of counseling known as auditing, in which practitioners aim to consciously re-experience painful or traumatic events in their past in order to free themselves of their limiting effects.

Beware

Study materials and auditing sessions are made available to members on a fee-for-service basis, which the church describes as a “fixed donation.”  Scientology is legally recognized as a tax-exempt religion in the United States, Italy, South Africa, Australia, Sweden, New Zealand, Portugal, and Spain.

The Church of Scientology emphasizes this as proof that it is a bona fide religion.  In contrast, the organization is considered a commercial enterprise in Switzerland, a sect in France, a cult in Chile, and a non-profit in Norway and its legal classification is often a point of contention.

Members of the Church of Scientology

Many, many Hollywood movie stars and a large number of organizations overseeing the application of Scientology have been established, the most notable of these being the Church of Scientology. Scientology sponsors a variety of social-service programs.

These include the Nar Conon anti-drug program, the Criminon prison rehabilitation program, the Study Tech education methodology, the Volunteer Ministers, the World Institute of Scientology Enterprises, and a set of moral guidelines expressed in a booklet called The Way to Happiness.

Debates and Arguments

Scientology is one of the most controversial new religious movements to have arisen in the 20th century. The church is often characterized as a cult and it has faced harsh scrutiny for many of its practices which, critics contend, include:

  • Brainwashing
  • Routinely defrauding its members
  • Harassing its critics and perceived enemies with psychological abuse
  • Character assassination
  • Costly litigation

False Teachings of Scientology

Scientologists claim that their beliefs are compatible with God, but the following scriptures counter what Scientology preaches:

God is the sovereign and only creator of the universe.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Gen 1:1).

Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth for the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself (Is 44:24).

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me (Is 46:9).

Mankind was created by God.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (Gen 1:27).

All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made (Jn 1:3).

Salvation comes only through God/Jesus Christ.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast (Eph 2:8-9).

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first and also to the Greek (Rom 1:16).

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me (Jn 14:6).

Jesus Christ is alive today.

This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses (Acts 2:33).

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places (Eph 1:20).

Who being the brightness of his glory and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged out sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high (Heb 1:3).

Scientology categorically denies the existence of the one true God, heaven, and hell.

Scientology believes Jesus Christ was simply a good teacher who unfortunately was wrongfully put to death.

Scientology believes there are multiple gods and that some gods are above other gods.  That’s what the Israelites thought and looked at what happened to them in Babylon, Jerusalem, and Judah.

Scientology denies the deity of Christ.

Scientology believes in the inherent goodness of man and teaches that it is despicable and utterly beneath contempt to tell a man he must repent or that he is evil.

Scientology believes in reincarnation and that personal salvation in one’s lifetime is freedom from the cycle of birth and death associated with reincarnation. They believe that religious practice of all faiths is the universal way to wisdom, understanding, and salvation.

These beliefs can lead a person only to hell.

…pray and tell the devil to take a walk.

Satan’s no fool, well he is because he thought he could overpower You, but other than that he isn’t.  If it wasn’t for You I’d be scared half to death of him, but since I have You guys on my side I see him as a little whiny girl.

I say that because even though he/his demons still try to pull me away from You at times, try and put insane ideas in my mind, they do it from a distance.

Satan, in a sense, still comes around at times and throws his garbage at me, but I just tell him, “I’m not interested, go and tell me dad.”  Every time I did that he would run and hide.

I know he hates me a whole lot, and as long as he hates me then I know I’m doing right.  Yet, if there comes a time when he won’t leave, I’m no fool, You can expect an immediate phone call.
