Daniel 2 – Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream & Hypnosis

Finger Pointing Up

1 The Book of Dani
The Book of Daniel is quoted often in the New Testament Book of Revelation. In many ways, the two books need to be read and studied together.

Daniel lived at an important time of ancient history and his story is critical to our understanding of what is happening today. His visions speak powerfully of the end times, and his writing continues to exalt the “Most High God.

Mind Control we talked about yesterday, that’s kind of scary stuff.  I’m not afraid to die, I even look forward to it.  I’m ready when I have fulfilled my purpose for You.

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Heb 9:27).

But I would hate to live and be somebody’s slave and that’s what our government wants.

The Book of Daniel is very interesting so I want to look at…

Daniel 2
Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream

1 And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.

“Second year of…Nebuchadnezzar” – 604 B.C.

2 Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.

3 And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.

4 Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live forever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.

2 Nebuchadnezzar I
Nebuchadnezzar I, ca. 1126–1103 BC, was the fourth king of the Second Dynasty of Isin and Fourth Dynasty of Babylon.

He ruled for 23 years according to the Babylonian King List C, and was the most prominent monarch of this dynasty. He is best known for his victory over Elam and the recovery of the cultic idol of Marduk.

“Syriack” – or “Aramaic.”  Since the astrologers were of various racial backgrounds they communicated in Aramaic, the language everyone understood.  From here to the end of chapter 7 the entire narrative is in Aramaic.

These six chapters deal with mattes of importance to the Gentile nations of the New East and were written in a language understandable to all.  But the last five chapters revert to Hebrew, since thy deal with special concerns of the chosen people.

5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

6 But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honor: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.

7 They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.

8 The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.

9 But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.

3 The Chaldeans of ancient Mesopotamia
The Chaldeans of ancient Mesopotamia – which today is Iraq, east Syria, and south east Turkey – are a live continuation of all the indigenous people of Mesopotamia whether their tribal names were Sumerians, Akkadians, Amorites, Babylonians, Assyrians, Chaldeans, and Aramaeans. The language of the Chaldean people is Aramaic, a different dialect than that spoken by Jesus. Tribes of settlers who arrived in the region from the 8th Century BC became known as the Chaldeans or the Chaldees.

The short-lived 11th dynasty of the Kings of Babylon (6th century BC) is conventionally known to historians as the Chaldean Dynasty, although only the first four rulers of this dynasty were known to be Chaldeans, and the last ruler was known not to be. Their kingdom in the southern portion of Babylonia lay chiefly on the right bank of the Euphrates.

Though the name came to be commonly used to refer to the whole of southern Mesopotamia, Chaldea proper was in fact the vast plain in the far south east formed by the deposits of the Euphrates and the Tigris, extending to about four hundred miles along the course of these rivers, and about a hundred miles in average width.

10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.

11 And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

“Whose dwelling is not with flesh” – who are not readily accessible.

12 For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.

13 And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.

14 Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:

“Arioch” – meaning uncertain.  It is also the name of a Mesopotamian king who lived centuries earlier (Gen 14:1, 9).

15 He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.

16 Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.

17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:

18 That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

“Secret” – a key word in Daniel.  It also appears often in the writings (Dead Sea Scrolls) of the Qumran sect.  The Greek equivalent is used in the New Testament to refer to the secret purposes of God that He reveals only to His chosen prophets and apostles.

19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God forever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:

21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.

23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.

4 Chaldean King24 Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.

25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.

26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?

27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;

28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.

30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.

31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

32 This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

6 The purpose of prophecy
The purpose of prophecy is to warn us about future crises. For example, Yahuwah warned Noah of the coming flood, Abraham and Lot of the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and He told Moses of the plagues of Egypt.

They all had to obey the warning in faith. These events were recorded to teach us that whatever Yahuwah foretold happened exactly as He said. Hence, we cannot afford to ignore any of His yet to be fulfilled prophecies as they serve as warnings that, if we obey, will protect us from crises.

2:32-43 – the gold head represents the Neo-Babylonian empire; the silver chest and arms, the Medo-Persian empire established by Cyrus in 539 B.C. (the date of the fall of Babylon); the bronze (“brass”) belly and thighs, the Greek empire established by Alexander the Great c. 330; the iron legs and feet, the Roman empire.

The toes are understood by some to represent a later confederation of states occupying the territory formerly controlled by the Roman empire.  The diminishing value of the metals from gold to silver to bronze to iron represents the decreasing power and grandeur of the rulers of the successive empires.

From the absolute despotism of Nebuchadnezzar to the democratic system of checks and balances that characterized the Roman senates and assemblies.  The metals also symbolize a growing degree of toughness and endurance, with each successive empire lasting longer than that preceding one.

33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and break them to pieces.

35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.

37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.

7 And the third angel
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, if any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the Lamb (Rev 14:9).

38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

The final kingdom is the eternal kingdom of God, built on the ruins of the sinful empires of man.  Its authority will extend over “the whole earth” (v. 35) and ultimately over “a new heaven and a new earth” (Rev 21:1).

8 The King is Coming
The King is Coming
God says in John 14:1-4 ” Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.

I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

46 Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odors unto him.

47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

48 Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon.

49 Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.

49 Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.

Hypnosis

The world is plagued by massive hypnosis and brainwashing/mind control.  These two methods of manipulating others are yang and yin – meaning they are related.  They go on everywhere, in families, in schools, in politics and particularly in the sexual arena.

9 Hypnosi
Hypnosis is meant to help clients make the changes they want to make, but have thus far struggled to achieve. Because hypnosis makes patients more open than usual to suggestions and proposed alterations in behavior, as well as other life goals.

Hypnosis is the gentle, stealth, more yin and seductive method.  Brainwashing is the more violent, yang, overtly controlling method of influencing people.  That is really the main difference between them.

Lowering the body’s vital energy and/or spinning the energy centers backwards to weaken the mind and body.  In unusual ways, this induces the equivalent of eddy currents in the mind.  Eddy currents are currents of water that flow backwards and are small, but they suck energy from the main current of a river.

These backward flows upset the mind and effectively tend to separate a person from his or her own knowing, intuition, common sense and guidance.  They tend to make people neurotic and even psychotic.

Hypnosis is a very deep and subtle alteration or distortion of the brain of a human being so that it responds in certain ways and not in others.

Computer Analogy

Hypnosis is a type of derangement of the brain that is somewhat like a computer virus, but they have two special qualities:

 1.  They are implanted at deep levels.  The “virus” is at the operating system or more primitive programming languages in the computer like HTML, GW BASIC or DOS, for those with some computer training.

These languages on your computer are often completely unseen and usually not understood or even accessible for the average individual.  They are designed this way because it is not necessary to understand them for daily working on the computer.

10 Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy purposely utilises subconscious functioning to aid therapeutic techniques in moving the client towards their goals. The subconscious is responsible for many things that research has identified and many things it hasn’t. It is the playground of dreams and the imagination.

2.  The “virus” is designed so that later on in life a skilled person, such as a hypnotist or other manipulator, can piggyback other viruses or messages onto them.  These are called post-hypnotic suggestions.

This computer analogy can help one understand how and why hypnosis works, and its power and dangers.  Those who hypnotize others are like computer professionals or hackers that can sneak inside your deep programming languages and make small, but important alterations in the mind, somewhat like implanting a computer virus there.

Practitioners of Hypnosis

Types of people that practice hypnosis for their gain on others are:

Professional advertisers,
Sneaky Politicians,
Trial Lawyers,
Doctors,
Salesmen,
Sex-Happy Men and Women,
CIA/FBI Agents,
Psychologists,
Governmental Officials, to name a few.

Sadly, even some parents and teachers such as college professors are often adept at sneaking inside the operating system of other people’s minds and manipulating it to get what they want.  One often calls these people manipulators, jerks, sharks, rip-off artists, rogues, rapists, murderers or villains.

While this sounds a little diabolical, it is not far from the truth.  Calling in a hypnotist is a little like calling in a computer programmer who knows about some of the hidden programs running in the background of your mind, and who can change them somewhat.11 Obama

Conclusion

It is said that not everyone can be hypnotized, the person must be susceptible to it, but who knows if that is true or not.

When a person is hypnotized the hypnotist has control of the victim’s thought patterns, but it is not always absolute that the victim will stay hypnotized or it’s not absolute that the victim will come out of it when told to do so.

12 Hypnosis has the power
Hypnosis has the power to tap into memory in ways that other techniques do not. Most importantly, it has the ability to induce temporary, reversible amnesia.

The government prefers brainwashing/mind control via electronic devices this way they are always in control, i.e., brain implant.  Yet, not everyone would allow an implant in their brain, unless they are hypnotized.

…Daniel’s prophecies.
